What Is TalentPass? (A Simple Overview for New Users)

If you’re new to TalentPass, here’s the simplest way to think about it:

TalentPass is your personal talent profile — a place to collect your experiences, skills, and achievements so you can use them for jobs, school, and opportunities.

Instead of juggling multiple resumes, documents, and platforms, TalentPass helps you organize everything in one place, understand your strengths, and tell your story clearly.

It’s easy to get started, free for individuals, and designed to grow with you over time.

What You Can Do With TalentPass Today

Right now, in the current launch version, TalentPass lets you:

✔ Build a clear profile of your abilities

You add experiences from work, school, volunteering, or life. TalentPass helps you describe what you did and what skills you used.

✔ Tailor your resume for any job

In the Build a Professional Profile conversation, you can paste a job description — TalentPass will ask helpful questions and craft a job-specific resume based on your real experience.

✔ Export a professional resume with a QR code

Your QR code links to your TalentPass, so employers can see your fuller experience if they want.

✔ Add evidence to your experiences

Photos, documents, screenshots, certifications, links — anything that helps show what you’ve done.

✔ Share your TalentPass link

This helps with networking, intros, and opportunities — even if you’re not applying for jobs yet.

All of this works on both desktop and mobile — though credential claiming is only supported on mobile at launch (more on that in a later FAQ).

Why TalentPass Asks You Questions

TalentPass is built around guided conversations.
Instead of giving you blank boxes to fill, the app:

  • asks thoughtful questions
  • helps you reflect
  • helps you describe what happened
  • helps you identify skills you might overlook
  • organizes everything for you

You don’t need perfect wording or resume-style language.
TalentPass helps you put experiences into clear, structured stories.

Your Information Belongs to You

TalentPass is built with a simple rule:

Your data is always yours.

You choose:

  • what to share
  • when to share
  • who sees it
  • and what stays private

Nothing is shared without your permission — and you can delete anything at any time.

How TalentPass Fits Into the Bigger Picture

TalentPass is the first part of a much larger ecosystem that will connect:

  • employers
  • state agencies
  • schools
  • training providers
  • community organizations

These partners will have “Passport Pages” — which are not live yet — but when they launch, they will allow you to use your TalentPass to:

  • claim credentials
  • match with opportunities
  • share verified information
  • receive guidance from partners
  • connect to learning and employment pathways

Everything you build today prepares you for that future.

What’s Not Available Yet (But Coming Soon)

Just so you know what to expect:

🚧 Job search inside TalentPass

Not live yet — coming soon via NLX integration.

🚧 Passport Pages (organizations)

Not available yet — launching in future releases.

🚧 Credential claiming on desktop

Mobile-only at launch.
Desktop users must upload evidence manually.

🚧 Direct import from Credly, Credible, Badgr, etc.

Workarounds exist today.
Full integrations are in progress.

We’ll cover all of these in later FAQ posts.

Why Start Using TalentPass Now?

Even though some big features are coming soon, starting now gives you real advantages:

  • your resume becomes easier to update
  • job tailoring becomes more accurate
  • you build a record of your experiences
  • networking becomes simpler
  • you prepare for future credential claiming
  • you shape your talent identity before you need it

Plus — because this is an early release — your feedback goes directly to our founders and engineers.
You’re helping shape the future of the app.

Final Takeaway

TalentPass is your personal, portable talent profile — a simple place to organize who you are, what you’ve done, and what you’re capable of.

It helps you:

  • tell your story
  • prepare for opportunities
  • strengthen your resume
  • collect your achievements
  • build toward future credentials and matching

You don’t need perfect experience or perfect wording.
Just start — TalentPass does the hard part with you.
